Association Membership

Become a member of the association that keeps our mosque alive — application process, dues and member rights.

Our mosque is run by the non-profit association A.D.M.U.C.M.F. (ASBL). Operating the mosque, religious services, educational activities and the upkeep of the building are the responsibility of this association — and its true owners are its members.

Why become a member?

Heating, electricity, maintenance and the continuity of our mosque’s services are funded by membership dues and donations. Membership is more than a financial contribution:

  • Voice and vote — you take part directly in decisions at the general assembly.
  • Elect and be elected — you elect the board and may stand as a candidate.
  • Transparency — the association’s accounts and activities are submitted to the members’ scrutiny at the general assembly.
  • Continuity — regular dues shield the mosque’s future from fluctuations in donations.

Who can become a member?

Anyone aged 18 or over who attends the mosque, embraces the association’s purpose and agrees to abide by its statutes may apply for membership.

How to join?

  1. Application form — filled in at the mosque; you can obtain it from the imam or the board members.
  2. Board decision — under Belgian association law (CSA), admission is decided by the board of directors and entered in the register of members.
  3. Dues — after admission, paying the annual dues makes the membership effective.

How to pay the dues?

The annual dues are €50. Two ways to pay:

  • Bank transfer — using the account details on the right; in the message field write “Dues 2026 – Full name”.
  • In cash — at the mosque, against a receipt.

Tip: set up a yearly standing order in your banking app — your dues will then be paid automatically every year.

Funeral Fund membership is separate

Affiliation to the Funeral, Mutual Aid and Solidarity Fund of the Diyanet Foundation of Belgium is a separate registration from association membership; one does not include the other. For details, see our Funeral Services page.

For any questions about membership and dues, contact the committee — phone numbers are in the right-hand column and on the Contact page.
