Our mosque stands because of your donations.

Why donations matter

From heating and lighting to maintenance, repairs and daily cleaning, every need of our mosque is met through the donations of our association’s members and our congregation. Every donation you make contributes directly to keeping worship and service here alive.

“When a person dies, their deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity (sadaqah jāriyah), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them.”

— The Prophet (peace be upon him), Sahih Muslim, Wasiyyah, 14 (Hadith No. 1631)

A donation to the mosque is a fine example of ongoing charity (sadaqah jāriyah): for as long as your donation continues, you share in the reward of every prayer performed and every page of the Qur’an recited here.

Ways to donate

1. Bank transfer (IBAN)

You can make a transfer directly through your bank using the IBAN and BIC details shown in the panel alongside. Writing “Donation” in the message field of the transfer helps our association track and record donations.

Note: Under the European Union’s “Verification of Payee” rule, some banks may display a different account name, such as “Communauté Turque de la Mosquée”, during the transfer. As long as the IBAN is correct, your donation reaches our association; there is no need to worry about this notice.

2. QR code with your banking app

By scanning the QR code alongside with your phone’s banking app camera or QR-reading feature, you can reach a transfer screen with the IBAN, recipient name and amount already filled in. The Belfius, BNP Paribas Fortis, ING, KBC/CBC, Argenta, Crelan, Beobank and Payconiq by Bancontact apps can all read this QR code.

3. Standing order (recurring donation)

If you would like to make a regular monthly donation rather than a one-off gift, you can set up an “ordre permanent / doorlopende opdracht” (standing order) through your own banking app. This instruction is set up directly through your own bank, with no need for a separate agreement with the association; you can change the amount and frequency, or cancel it, at any time.

4. The donation box at the mosque

You can make a cash donation at our donation box near the mosque entrance. Our donation box sees particular use during Friday prayers, when our congregation is largest.

5. Sacrifice by proxy (Kurban)

Every year, before Eid al-Adha, you can take part in the sacrifice-by-proxy organisation coordinated by the Diyanet Foundation of Belgium (BDV). The sacrifice fee and participation conditions are updated each year and shared through our mosque noticeboard and announcements.

This year’s sacrifice fee and the final application date are announced at the mosque and on the announcements page each year before Eid al-Adha.

6. Book donations for the library

Our mosque is building a small library of works published by the Turkish Religious Foundation (TDV) and Diyanet Publications. You can support this effort with a book donation.

For book donations, please first speak with our imam or the association committee to agree on the works and how they should be delivered.

Zakat and fitr

You can bring your zakat and fitr to our mosque’s donation box, or send them to the IBAN above, writing “Zakat” or “Fitr” in the message field. You may also donate directly to the Diyanet Foundation of Belgium’s (BDV) central Zakat-Fitr Fund: the minimum fitr amount is set at €10, with account details Ass. Inter. Diyanet de Belgique — BE36 4300 8889 0181. Donations to this fund should include “Fitr”, “Zakat”, “Fidyah” or “General Donation” in the message field.

The Zakat-Fitr Fund, along with other BDV services such as hajj/omra, the funeral fund, education scholarships and legal counselling, is listed together on our Diyanet Services page.

Transparency

Our donations are reported to our members at our association’s general assembly.
